“Roadmap to Yes” is Almost Here!
One of the first things I did, about ten years when I finally said “I’m going to take myself seriously as a writer and really do this,” was register for a workshop with Jane Friedman–and I didn’t even know she was Jane Friedman then, you know?
The class blew me away. Suddenly I saw that the writing and publishing world was not the big scary monolith I’d imagined (though even now, sometimes it feels big and scary, I’ll admit it)–it was an environment that, with Jane’s advice, I could enter into. I got a peek at the layers and nuance and said, “Okay, I think I can do this.”
(Naturally, that was after I’d sat in my car for twenty minutes after the workshop, soaking everything in and furiously filling in notes while everything was still fresh in my head.)
Jane has this effect on people, in the best way. She delivers LOADS of information in an organized, straightforward manner; she’s down to earth, practical, and knows her stuff. You’ll walk away from this workshop thinking, “Okay, I think I can do this.”
Whether you’re an experienced writer or just starting out, this workshop is going to propel you along the way. And if you’ve ever attended a workshop or masterclass with Jane before, you already know that it’s worth attending another one! (Tell your friends!)
Register Now for “Roadmap to Yes: Plotting Your Path to Publication”
Saturday, February 22*
In this masterclass, you’ll learn the mechanics of how traditional publishing works and how to prepare submissions materials for your novel, memoir, or nonfiction book. Learn what it takes to capture the attention of a New York publisher or literary agent, plus what expectations you should have so that you approach this (often frustrating) process with the right expectations and mindset.
*Can’t attend in person? No worries. All attendees receive a copy of the slides, Q&A, and have access to the recording for 90 days following the event.
